CCND1 t(11;14 translocation)
DESCRIPTION – the CCND1 encodes the cyclin D1 protein. This gene is translocated on t (11;14). The CCND1 gene encodes for the regulatory subunit of a holoenzyme that phosphorylates and inactivates the retinoblastoma protein and promotes progression. This assay is used to diagnose mantle cell lymphoma and some cases of multiple myeloma. Also known as t (11;14) translocation.
