DESCRIPTION – NARP is a condition that causes a variety of signs and symptoms that mainly affect the nervous system. The condition typically begins in childhood or early adulthood, and the signs and symptoms usually worsen over time.

SPECIMEN REQUIERED –

COLLECT – lavender (EDTA) or buccal swabs

SPECIMEN PREPARATION – transport 5 ml whole blood

STORAGE/TRANSPORT TEMPERATURE – refrigerated

STABILITY – ambient: 24 hours; refrigerated: 1 week
